Yenn is a digital sociologist with a focus on the Asia–Pacific region. Her research interests include:
- Digitally mediated expressions of political support and contention;
- Online harms, especially against social minorities;
- Digital methods and tools in qualitative and mixed methods research.
She currently holds the positions of Senior Lecturer in Research Methodology and Deputy Director of the Doctoral School at SOAS University of London, where her main responsibility is to lead a researcher development programme for PhD students across arts, humanities, and social sciences at the institution and its partners.
