Below are three articles that came to my attention within the span of the last 24 hours. One cannot not notice the patterns and wonder why bad things have to be awfully spreadable too…
- @TimothyS This is interesting – South Korea’s ruling party has used US police action in Ferguson to justify its crackdowns. RT @wikileaks Erdogan uses western treatment of @Assange & @Snowden to justify his imprisonment of Turkish editor @candundaradasi egedesonsoz.com/haber/-sozcu-den-tahliyelere-assange-li-yorum/920998 (26 February 2016)
- Donald Trump is not a joke: A warning to Americans from an Italian who survived Berlusconi (Annalisa Merelli, Quartz, 26 February 2016)
- Freedom is a constant struggle (Frank Barat, Al Jazeera English, 26 February 2016)
Palestine, for example, has become a laboratory for what the rest of the world could become. The weapons and the tactics used to violently repress peaceful demonstrations in the West Bank are the same ones you see in Ferguson, Missouri.
The science behind the Apartheid Wall built in the Occupied Territories is the same one being used along the Mexican border. The militarisation of our societies that is at its most obvious in the United States follows the same pattern. Israel has been under emergency laws since it was created in 1948. France has been for months since the Paris terrorist attacks.
