“Gross National Happiness”?

I have just run into the World Map of Happiness produced by the University of Leicester.

Originally displayed here – “A Global Projection of Subjective Well-being: A Challenge to Positive Psychology?”. According to the Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS), based upon which this map is built, Denmark and Switzerland topped the world with a score of 273, followed by Austria, Iceland, Bahamas, etc. South Korea marked the 103rd, sandwiched between Madagascar and Bangladesh.
